A man walks into a lawyer’s office wanting a divorce. The Lawyer asks, “On what grounds do you seek?” The man answers, “She shot at me, twice. Represent my wife, respecting one stipulation, and I will tell you who’s blackmailing you.”

And so the negotiations and the tale of Dan Sullivan’s life as a werewolf begin.

Curiosity pulls you in, the tale of Dan Sullivan keeps you reading, but it's the descriptions and attention to detail that really makes this story. It's written in a very easy style that belies the depth of what's being delivered. The Tattooed Wolf is not your typical werewolf book. It reminds me a bit of Blood and Chocolate, the way the supernatural world exists around us in a way that doesn't feel supernatural at all.

The Tattooed Wolf 9780957679047 Books Reviews

I really enjoyed this book. K. Bannerman's spin on the werewolf mythology makes her characters real, and, ahem, human. I've read a lot of werewolf stories, but never one where I rooted for the wolf quite so thoroughly.
Also, as a reader on the west coast of British Columbia, I appreciated the story's sense of place.
I hope there's a sequel.
Having read other works of Ms Bannerman and been pleased with my findings I thought I would give this one a try - although I must admit a story of a werewolf had little appeal. I was amazed that this not your typical science fiction book by any means. It is a well written character study on human nature - a book I found hard to put down. It was intriguing, suspenseful, blended with a dash of romance - a book where you as the reader become involved with the characters. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story where it is difficult to outguess the author.
"The Tattooed Wolf" begins as a 'tail' of divorce and betrayl, and ends as a triumph of the human spirit, no matter what form.
Dan Sullivan tells his story to a lawyer he wishes to hire.
As the story progresses, we learn that lycanthropy is the least of Dans' problems, as his new wife attempts to kill him on two occasions, in a callous move to receive his monies as his widow.
Dan weaves his tale through his childhood experiences as a werewolf, through to his early adulthood as a reclusive manuscript restorer.
His marriage proves a catastrophy, and as the blurb on the back of the book so aptly puts, "even the fairest face can hide a monster."
Werewolfism aside, this book gives you a good look at the 'human' condition, ranging from desire to greed to pure love.
I'd happily recommend this book.
I'd happily read any other books this first time author puts forth.
For any future printings of the book, I think that a label should be included somewhere on the cover "Warning! Contents Highly Addictive. Do not begin to read this book if you have more pressing matters to attend to!" I say this because I found that I simply could not bring myself to put this novel down, and as a result I lost a lot of sleep!
I thought that this novel was completely and utterly awesome. The writing itself is great, and the story was even better. The author kept me emotionally engrossed throughout the whole thing, and I found that I could really relate to the main character, Dan Sullivan. I shared his supreme agitation, I fell in love, and I wanted to kill his wife so badly that I unintentionally creased the back cover with the frustration of it! K. Bannerman played me like a violin, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I wouldn't say that it was perfect, though. On several (maybe around 7-10) occasions throughout the book, I noticed some blatant grammatical errors that looked like they could have been easily fixed with a more thorough edit (I'm told these will be fixed with a second printing). In addition to that, there were a couple places that were somewhat confusing as to who was talking about whom at what point in time. However, niether of these things greatly affected my understanding or enjoyment of the story, so they're not overly critical.
This was the most enjoyable novel I've read in a long time, and if a sequel was written, I would buy it in a heartbeat!
I was totally surprised . Im not much of werewolf story person . I thought I would read it because I enjoyed all the other books she has written so mu
ch. The Tattooed Wolf was written from such a different perspective than I expected it got me be surprise and I just could nor pu in down. I loved it .
Normally not the type of book I would look for to read but having read Bucket of Blood and knowing Kim personally I was interested in seeing where this book would take me. I found this very well written and kept my attention from beginning to end and found it hard to put aside to complete other necessary daily obligations. Kim's use of imagination set in real places that I could relate to was so captivating that I found I could see all the characters in the various settings. Well written and can almost make you believe in werewolves.
